Digital Dish: July 2018
Each month, Sylvamo's Digital Expert writes a Digital Dish newsletter to fuel your digital cravings. This month's edition highlights three tips to chew on when printing on high-speed production inkjet presses.
1. Print Duplex
It is highly recommended to print duplex so each side of the sheet has some ink applied to it. This helps to prevent post-print curl when sheeted. It’s important to note that if curl does develop, it will always curl towards the last side printed.
2. Ink Awareness
Always be aware of the amount of ink being applied to the sheet because as ink coverage approaches 280% or greater, drying issues may develop. Rather than loading more ink on the paper, it is best to use a treated sheet to give you the ink density you are looking for.
3. Untreated Stock
Using an untreated sheet is possible if printing black ink only, but you will use more of it to get a deeper black density in the print. If you are looking for better clarity in the print, whether black and white or color, try using a treated paper like Accent® Opaque with ImageLok® Technology.
